More bugs fixed in FocusWriter

Posted on December 28, 2010, under FocusWriter

I made a FocusWriter release today, version 1.3.2. This is another bugfix release, with only a few minor features added. Among the many bugs fixed is the oft-reported bug where the automatic spell checking always highlighted the current word. Enjoy!

Thanks so much for the recent release!

Your program is fantastic, and I’ve been using it for quite a while now.

The only issue I have is with the line spacing limitation—I’m used to working in a 1.5/2.0 line spacing environment, and it’s hard on the eyes. Curious if there’s any plans of implementing this feature?

: )

@Vladi: That’s a good idea, and easy enough to do. 😉

@Johnny: I feel your pain, this is something I have wanted to add for a long time. Currently there is no support for it in the framework I am using, but that may be changing soon. I will add this as soon as its available!

I simply love this program !

But I just get worried about the blinking cursor. Is there a way to get rid of it ? I’ve seen an old version with a cancel option.

Do you plan to reactivate it?

I really like this program, I wrote an article on softcity about it, c heck it up http://cafe.softcity.com/article/view/5YjMzQzN/focus-writer-and-distraction-free-word-processors

The only thing I missing is the use of headings… besides that is perfect.

Nice app! But what about a more minimalistic scrollbar writemonkey-style?

Thank you very much for the Focus Writer! I’m glad that such a good piece of open-source software is available also in polish!

This FocusWriter is just what I was dreaming of/wishing for, for many years.. It’s creator is a Genius, and a great Brother.. I ain’t wealthy yet, but when/if I get financed, and have develop this plazma engine into a vehicle, you gets a free “flying car”, bro…

I request that FocusWriter be added to right click desktop, tools bar, at the top of the list, in Fedora-14..

Also requests a package of borders, which accurately border the window with fancy scrolls and such, to further add the the focus of the theme one happens to be running with…
Maybe animate the window a little, like a fluttering hummingbird at a flower, in the top corner.. or a kid crouched playing with a bullfrog at a pond, feeding the froggy crickets.. Only a little wee bit of movement is required, so to maintain focus without distraction.. “Netsukes”…

I’m really liking FocusWriter. Just ran across it recently. I’m wondering how frequently it auto-saves though. I couldn’t find any information on this anywhere.

It auto-saves once a minute, once you have chosen a save location/name for that file. (I’m planning on adding a temporary backup for before you first save.)
