New projects are always fun

A few days ago, I finished writing two programs and put them online. The first program, FocusWriter, is a fullscreen word processor that I intend to use to write my NaNoWriMo novel this year—I got tired of using OpenOffice.org and wanted something somewhat different. The second program, Kapow Punch Clock, is a simple punch clock I wrote by request, and figured that other people could use as well.

There are a few more features that I intend to add to FocusWriter, including wordcount based goals. That’s a feature intended mostly for NaNoWriMo. However, I already have NovProg, so I might not get around to it for a little while. I have thought about some form of integration between the two programs, but I haven’t figured out a good interface for it just yet.

Of course, I’m still busy with a couple of other projects that I was working on before getting sidetracked by FocusWriter and Kapow. One of them, a recipe manager, is already usable, and I hope to have it completed and online before the Christmas season begins and completely distracts me.
