After struggling with making Ubuntu packages in the OBS I have come to conclusion that I was wrong when I decided to remove my personal package archive. Yes, it is a hassle to create packages for both as I already create Debian packages for the OBS. However, it is more of a headache to use the OBS for Ubuntu packages because the OBS does not enable the universe repository.
I have decided to add back a PPA for my packages, and I will be updating my website shortly. I’m very sorry for the inconvenience to Ubuntu users caused by my switching to the OBS from a PPA, and now by my switching back to a PPA from the OBS. Please accept my sincerest apologies, and these new packages. 🙂

OK, kind of funny. As a Ubuntu user I did manage to use the OBS, but now going back to PPA will be easy. Thanks a lot.

What version of Ubuntu are you using? I only make packages for the currently supported versions of Ubuntu (12.04, 12.10, 13.04).

I provide packages for 12.04, so I’m not sure why you aren’t seeing it. Did you make sure to run ‘apt-get update’ after adding the repository?

Yes, several times. I also tried removing and re-adding the repository. Here is a screenshot of the packages in it as shown by synaptic:

Did you uninstall FocusWriter when changing repositories? The version number in the PPA is technically smaller (“1.4.4-0ppa1~precise1” sorts before “1.4.4-1”), so I don’t know if it will show up until I make a new release because the version already installed is consider newer (even though they are the exact same version). You don’t need to uninstall it if you don’t want to; it will be upgraded when I make a new release because that will have a larger version number.

That may be it. Back when I switched to the Suse repository, it automatically upgraded to the latest version at that time (1.4.4) and I have not uninstalled it. I can’t tell from the About screen if it is 1.4.4-0 or 1.4.4-1. I thought about uninstalling to see if it would reappear in the repo but I was afraid that it wouldn’t and then I wouldn’t be able to reinstall. So, I’ll see what happens when the next release comes out. Thanks for investigating.
BTW this blog is not linked to from the main site (as far as I could find) So it took a long time and some googling for me to find out about the repo switch to Suse and why my old repo had stopped working. I also should mention, I think Focuswriter is great and have donated, I tell everyone on Nanowrimo to try it.
